AWS Config Rule: ElastiCache Redis Cluster Automatic Backup Enabled

ELASTICACHE_REDIS_CLUSTER_AUTOMATIC_BACKUP_CHECK

Fernando Honig

Last Update 2 个月前

Description: Check if the Amazon ElastiCache Redis clusters have automatic backup turned on. The rule is NON_COMPLIANT if the SnapshotRetentionLimit for Redis cluster is less than the SnapshotRetentionPeriod parameter. For example: If the parameter is 15 then the rule is non-compliant if the snapshotRetentionPeriod is between 0-15.

Trigger type: Periodic

AWS Region: All supported AWS regions except Canada West (Calgary) Region

How to Resolve Manually

To resolve this manually, you will need to ensure that your Redis Cluster has Enable Automatic Backups enabled which can be reviewed under the Backup portion of the Cluster Settings.

When this is enabled, AWS will automatically create a daily backup of a replica node or a set of replicas. You can also set the Backup Retention Period which covers how long your backups are retained for in days, before they are automatically discarded.
