Description: Checks whether the root user access key is available. The rule is compliant if the user access key does not exist.


Trigger type: Periodic


AWS Region: All supported AWS regions except Asia Pacific (Osaka) Region


How to Resolve Manually

To resolve this manually, sign in to AWS Management Console. 


Enter your account email address and password:


  • Enter Account Email.
  • Enter Account Password. ...
  • Open the IAM Dashboard. ...
  • IAM Dashboard, Manage Security Credentials. ...
  • Click Continue To Security Credentials. ...
  • Your Security Credentials page. ...
  • Confirm Access Keys Deletion.


Make sure you’re not using these credentials anywhere in your application or Instances, otherwise they will start failing.
