AWS Config Rule: DAX Encryption Enabled

DAX_ENCRYPTION_ENABLED

Fernando Honig

Last Update 10 months ago

Description: Checks that Amazon DynamoDB Accelerator (DAX) clusters are encrypted. The rule is NON_COMPLIANT if a DAX cluster is not encrypted

Trigger type: Periodic

AWS Region: All supported AWS regions except China (Beijing), China (Ningxia), AWS GovCloud (US-East), AWS GovCloud (US-West), Asia Pacific (Hong Kong), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Canada (Central), Europe (Milan), Europe (Stockholm), Middle East (Bahrain), Africa (Cape Town) Region

How to Resolve Manually

You cannot enable or disable encryption at rest after a cluster has been created. You must re-create the cluster to enable encryption at rest if it was not enabled at creation.

DAX encryption at rest is offered at no additional cost (AWS KMS encryption key usage charges apply).
