Fernando Honig

Last Update 9 maanden geleden

Description: Checks if RDS DB instances have backups enabled. Optionally, the rule checks the backup retention period and the backup window.

Trigger type: Configuration changes

AWS Region: All supported AWS regions except Asia Pacific (Hyderabad), Asia Pacific (Melbourne), Europe (Spain), Europe (Zurich) Region

How to Resolve Manually

To resolve manually, you will need to enable backups on your RDS DB Instance, and then set a backup retention period.

This can be found within the Additional Configuration section of the RDS Instance.

The backup retention period determines the period for which you can perform a point-in-time recovery

Important to consider:

Aurora offers 1-day backup retention for free!
