Description: Checks if Amazon Elastic Container Service clusters have container insights enabled. The rule is NON_COMPLIANT if container insights are not enabled.


Trigger type: Configuration changes


AWS Region: All supported AWS regions except Asia Pacific (Jakarta), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Europe (Milan) Region


How to Resolve Manually

This config rules checks if Elastic Container Service clusters have Container Insights enabled. The rule will be marked as non-compliant if a cluster is found with container insights turned off.


In order to resolve this you will need to head on over ECS service within the AWS Console then go to Clusters from within the left-hand side menu. From the clusters list, locate the non compliant cluster and click on its name.

Once in the properties screen, click on Update Cluster button, locate the Monitoring card and toggle on Cluster Insights. Then click on Update button to apply the settings. Check the following screenshot as reference:
