Description: Checks if managed platform updates in an AWS Elastic Beanstalk environment is enabled. The rule is COMPLIANT if the value for ManagedActionsEnabled is set to true. The rule is NON_COMPLIANT if the value for ManagedActionsEnabled is set to false, or if a parameter is provided and its value does not match the existing configurations.


Trigger type: Configuration changes


AWS Region: All supported AWS regions except Asia Pacific (Jakarta), Middle East (UAE), Asia Pacific (Hyderabad), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Melbourne), AWS GovCloud (US-East), AWS GovCloud (US-West), Europe (Spain), Europe (Zurich) Region


How to Resolve Manually

This config rule checks whether managed updates are enabled for a particular Elastic Beanstalk environment. The rule will be marked as non-compliant if the managed platform updates are disabled for an environment.


To resolve this you will need to first head over to the AWS Elastic Beanstalk service within your AWS Console and make sure to select the correct region from where your environment is deployed.

Once there, locate the desired Environment from the lefthand menu, click on Configuration and then locate the Managed updates section. Click on Edit button to enable the updates and define an update level and update window. Check the following screenshot as a reference:
