Additions (late April)

New Features:

  • We are excited to announce the rollout of the Deployment History and Draft Configuration feature on the Status page of StackZone. This enhances user control and visibility into platform changes before deployment.

  1. Comprehensive Draft Configuration Viewing: Users can now access a detailed list of all changes made to the platform before initiating deployment. Users can review each changed entry seamlessly under the "Draft Configuration" section on the Status page.
  2. Detailed Deployment History Access: StackZone users can now delve into a comprehensive history of all previous deployments. By navigating to the Provisioning > Status screen and accessing the "Deployment History" card, users can view a condensed table displaying users' names and deployment dates. A table will display old and new values for each service modified by clicking on the username link. This facilitates effortless comparison and tracking of changes made by individual users.
  • Added SSM Connect action in Resource Management > Compute > EC2 Instances.
  • Introduced the "Advanced Mode Feature." Enabling the toggle in the Organization Details screen provides deeper control over Provisioning settings, including execution frequency, log retention, and more.
Key additions include Delegate Admin and certain GuardRails configurations. Want to learn more? Please refer to this article.
  • Savings Opportunities: This feature offers a streamlined interface for accessing recommendations directly from the Savings Opportunities screen, facilitating prompt action on cost-saving measures. With advanced filtering options, users can effortlessly segment recommendations by various criteria, such as accounts, regions, and severity levels. Visual representations via doughnut charts offer intuitive insights into potential savings opportunities. Additionally, a comprehensive table presents detailed insights, including recommended actions, estimated monthly savings, and savings percentage estimates, empowering users to make informed decisions about optimizing costs.
  • Identity Management (V2): In this release, we're introducing two highly anticipated screens: Assignments and Reports. These additions further enhance your ability to manage access and permissions across your AWS accounts with ease and precision.
  • Assignments: The Assignments screen allows users to link and manage associations between AWS accounts, users, and groups effortlessly. Easily create, edit, and delete assignments to streamline access and permissions management across their infrastructure.
  • Reports: The Reports screen provides users with the capability to generate and save detailed reports of findings data from the Access Analyzer. Effortlessly export and analyze findings for compliance, auditing, and reporting purposes, ensuring robust security and governance across your AWS environments.
  • Resource Management > New services were added:
  1. Integration > Certificate Manager
  2. Security > AWS KMS
  3. Databases > Amazon OpenSearch

Enhancements

  • Security Compliance > Dashboard: now we show the Top 5 non-compliant resource types.
  • Security Compliance > Rules: now users are able to filter by "Resource Tags."
  • Resource Management: Now, users are able to save reports.
  • Several info panels were added.
  • Improved logout functionality when the session expires.

Bug Fixes

  • Hotfix:
    • Operations Advisor recommendations fix backend errors.
    • Reports Schedule time correction ( sent with a lower margin time of up to 5 minutes )

  • Fixed a bug that was causing some users to encounter "Rate Exceeded" errors, particularly in instances where non-compliant rules queries were being performed repeatedly for each organization account.
  • Fixed a bug where some customers were not allowed to enable "Allow external users."
  • Fixed a bug in the Operations > Reports section where users were not allowed to open the reports.
  • Fixed a bug in which the users could not receive the subscribed reports by mail.
  • Fixed a bug where users were not allowed to see the name of the last user who performed actions on the Status page
  • Coverage Overview: Now the donuts are rendered when the user changes the coverage type in the filter.
  • Fixed a bug in which the user had to enter their credentials twice to reach the Dashboard.

  • Fixed a bug in the Access Analyzer screen, where the doughnut charts were not being reset after applying a new filter or by switching pages.
  • General UI improvements.

Known Issues

  • Operations > Overview screen will fail for Organizations with larger amounts of data, particularly in account numbers and enabled regions. This can cause the main Overview screen to fail with an error.
  • Savings Opportunities: The Save to Reports button remains disabled even when you have already applied the filters.
  • Resource Management: It is not possible to download a report or see the history of any of them. So those icon actions remain disabled.
  • Provisioning: Some Draft Configuration changes might not be displayed correctly.
  • Creating a budget with the period "Yearly" in the Cost Savings screen might not be possible.
  • It's not possible to create an alarm in Cost Savings when you check the "Select all" checkboxes.
  • The "SSM Connection" modal in Resource Management > Compute > EC2 Instances does not display correctly at 1280 resolution.
