Description: Checks if Amazon CloudWatch alarms actions are in enabled state. The rule is NON_COMPLIANT if the CloudWatch alarms actions are not in enabled state.


Trigger type: Configuration changes


AWS Region: All supported AWS regions except Asia Pacific (Jakarta), Middle East (UAE), AWS GovCloud (US-East), AWS GovCloud (US-West) Region


How to Resolve Manually

This AWS config rule checks if Alarm actions are enabled for a particular CloudWatch alarm. The rule will be marked as non-compliant if the actions are found to be disabled for the alarm.


In order to resolve this, go to CloudWatch service within AWS Console then click on All alarms from the left menu. 

Look for the noncompliant alarm and click on it. Once there, click on Actions > Alarm actions > Enable to activate the actions on this specific alarm. Please refer to the picture below as a visual guide:
