Highlights

New Features:

  • We've introduced the Recommendations feature within the Cost Management > Optimize section. This feature allows customers to make informed decisions about resource optimization by providing a comprehensive view of resources that require attention. With the ability to filter recommendations by Accounts, Resource types, and Finding types, optimizing instances, volumes, and functions has never been more convenient. This feature is released as Experimental. In order to try it out you will need to enable "Experimental Features" from the Organization Details.
  • We added the Performance pillar in Operations > Well Architected > Workloads. In this version, we will provide you with several filters to get a Pillar-Based Segmentation report, providing a comprehensive view of compliance status split by "Pillar". These valuable insights will help you to keep improving your infrastructure, working towards Well-Architected Framework best practices. Remember that this feature is still in Experimental state, so feel free to try it out and leave us your feedback.

Enhancements

  • The Cost Management > Budget creation screen experienced a complete overhaul to improve its usability and make the budget creation more accurate
  • A "refresh" button was added to Reports tables in Cost Management and Operations to greatly improve usability on these tables

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed several bugs in "I want to explore" mode
  • General UI, styling fixes and improvements in various screens
  • Fixed a bug in Security Compliance where filters were not pulling any data if the filter was set to "Select All"

Known Issues

  • NTR

Additions (late September)

New Features:

  • Well-Architected tool > Workloads: We are excited to introduce new features and improvements to our Well Architected tool. This V2 enhances your ability to create, manage, and monitor workloads effectively. You now can create a Workload, save a Milestone and then check for them in Overview screen. The following new actions you can execute from this section:
    • A table will display Workload ID, Workload Name, Account, Workload Status, and Last Update based on the applied filters. Status dropdown options include Submitted, Pending Submission, and Deprecated. This last status will indicate that the selected lenses for that specific workload have been updated; you won't be able to edit it, so you need to create a new one or just eliminate it.
    • Save Milestone: You can save answered questions as a Milestone by clicking the "Save Milestone" button.
Notice that this feature is released as experimental. Feel free to try it out and leave us your valuable feedback

  • Cost Management > Reports: You can now download your reports as a PDF from the reports section.
Note: Only Summary And Overview Reports are functional at this time

  • Cost Management > Optimize > Recommendations: This feature allows you to know which resources require optimization filtering by Accounts, Resource, and Finding type, which allows you to optimize instances, volumes, and functions, according to your convenience, directly from the recommendation screen. You will also be able to save the generated reports. Some important information about this feature:
    • Pricing is calculated by: allocated space x region-pricing.
    • ECS can't be optimized due to limitation in the API
    • Changes after optimizing a resource could delay up to a day in being reflected due to how AWS manages this process.
Note that this feature is released as experimental.

  • Settings > User Session Management: now you can get information about logged-in users: date, time, IP address, as well as last login date.

Enhancements:

  • Added new modal window in Operations > Well Architected > Workloads to prevent data loss when switching between screens

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a bug in which social login was not redirecting after a successful authentication
  • Fixed a bug in which the screen loaded twice when user switches between organizations
  • Fixed a bug in Operations > Well Architected > Workloads, where the user wasn't able to see deprecated workloads.
  • Fixed date-time format in Operations > Well Architected > Workloads
  • Fixed a bug in Audit Trail feature in which the event time was not being shown
  • Several fixes in colors to improve consistency between screens and elements

Known Issues:

  • Operations > Resource Finder: a window can be opened when clicking on the table when there are 0 tags on the resource.
  • Operations > Well Architected > Workloads: when completing questions on a specific workload, the upgrade banner overlaps with the title of the workload.
  • Operations > Well Architected > Overview: you can open the detail popup on each of the graphs without applying any filter.
  • StackZone Settings > Session Details popup: some mockup information is being shown in users that haven't accepted yet the invitation to join the organization.
  • Audit Trail shows UTC as the timestamp but this may be incorrect. Use the time field inside each call for the correct timestamp.
